Virginia Landscape

This painting was done plein-air (from life) in Galax, Virginia on a recent trip with my husband and some friends. It was the most relaxing vacation ever. Scenes like this one surrounded us - Everywhere - I looked was a painting waiting to be painted!

On this day, it was early evening and the sky was changing by the moment. I loved this pale pink, salmon color really that was just kissing the tops of the trees. Can you see the cows in the distant background?
