Why Buy Original Art?

I have been asked this question by a few people who can't understand why to buy an original painting when you can get a print for a fraction of the price? Now, I also do sell some professional quality giclee prints, so I understand there is a place for them, but it's the same as asking why does a person go to a concert when you can just buy a cd? There's something about seeing it live and being that much closer to the experience that makes it so much more special. It's hard to bring prints into a home once you feel the difference original art creates in a space.

This painting entitled "More Than Just Food" was inspired by all of the cooking I did during the holidays for our newly blended large family. (There are 9 of us now! plus extra relatives there too)  Anyone agree with me when I say..."its more than just food'?
